Regardless of what you may read on the internet, Washington, DC is still a medical cannabis only jurisdiction—albeit a very liberal one.
Who May Purchase
All residents and non-residents 21+ (including visitors from other countries) may register for a DC cannabis card. The process is quick (from application to approval takes about 10 minutes) and easy.
Out-of-State Patients 18+ registered in a US (or US territory) medical cannabis program are eligible to purchase product from licensed DC dispensaries. The registration must be current and issued by a government entity (i.e. California Nugg cards are not accepted). You must also have a current, government issued photo ID.
All DC Designated and Registered Caregivers are eligible to purchase for their patient at licensed dispensaries. Unfortunately, registered caregivers from other jurisdictions are not allowed by DC law. However, as long as you are 21+ you may register for a non-resident temp card to make your purchases
